Demo Day!

Just two weeks shy of a year ago we had Demo Day in Oxygen Accelerator. Had anyone told me back then that in a year I would be having a Demo Day of my own accelerator I would have considered the person to be on strong medication or something. Yet yesterday, here we were, 6 teams from 6 countries presenting their games to the 50+ strong audience in our Tehnopol premises in Tallinn.

GameFounders Open!

Last week we opened the first accelerator for gaming startups in Europe – GameFounders.

We have had 6 teams from 6 different countries (Argentina, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands) work in Estonia for two weeks already. On Friday we had the official opening party. Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Juhan Parts, was there to declare us open. it is very laudable, that the accelerator has gained recognition from our political sphere; only that way can we gain the leverage for estonian gaming industry to take off! It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. But I have a perfectly good reason why I’ve not had time to post. I have been busy playing games. And by the way, doing it for only working purposes.

You see, we are launching a new accelerator for gaming and gamification startups – GameFounders. The whole concept of the accelerator is similar to that of Y-Combinator, Techstars and lot of others. We hold a competition and elect 6-10 startups that we will incubate, nurture and give money to (for a small equity), in order to reap the benefits when after the program they will raise a larger amount of money.
